ok so im saving for a dvx and i plan to have the cash by summer and thats including a 35mm adapter a bescor light a fisheye and a xlr mic... would it be better to aquire this over the summer or wait almost a whole nother year and save for a HVX???? i think at my level im in no need for the hvx but yea

I think you answered the question yourself here.

Let me recap: would you rather enjoy a GREAT cam for 365 days, or wait and do no filming at all just so you can get a GREATER cam?

Possible answers:

1) I want to be filming now!!

2) No, I like to wait, it's great fun.

Keep in mind there is way more involved in spending with HD then just the camera. You're looking a 3 times the cost of the DVX

Unless you have gobs of cash to blow, the HVX is too much camera to start out with. You will dig the DVX

Where do you plan to get this 35MM adapter and have the cash by summer? Those tend to run in the tens of thousands.

He's probably referring to that $300-$400 adapter that I've seen mentioned here... somewhere. I think Coffee has one.

emereica_zr, be careful. Number 2 is a trick question. If you choose it, you won't have a camera for a year!.:embarasse
