DVX on TVSHOWS.

well uh... so guys, why is it that I see movies and TV Shows having the DVX on screen, and use it for really stupid crap? Like HOME MOVIES or SURVEILLANCE and stuff. It's a really expensive camera. Is this because people are using it on the crew? Do they use it as there own personal camera and lend it out? or does the production buy/rent these cameras? eh? Explain.

Isn't CNN doing a special on the Porn Industry? Too bad they won't be analyzing the technological mediums it uses.

Okay, on second thought...

BSG uses a Cinealta, if I recall, or maybe it was a Varicam - they were just talking about it in this month's issue of American Cinematographer. BSG did feature the Sony FX-1 as a prop in several recent episodes. If you use your imaginiation, it looks sort of futuristic, with its small size and atypically-place LCD screen.

Expensive? The DVX100 is like pennies and dimes for television productions. It's highly likely they have them floating all over the place for DVD extra feature footage (aka milking the customer).
