Preview for next week's episode has a reporter carrying one around.

Speaking of BSG, does anyone notice a difference in the feel of footage with scenes that take place on Galactica vs. ext. planet scenes (especially Kobol stuff)? The on-board stuff always feels more filmic while the ext. scenes sometimes have a different, somewhat smoother video feel. As an example (though it's nowhere near this extreme) it's like playing DVX 24p footage and cutting to DVX 60i footage -- you get that shift into more "reality" style motion.

I've noticed this in season 2... never stood out to me in season 1. Tthe show is shot in HD 24p, and always looks great to me except for the few times where this phenomenon crops up.

I knew I liked you for a reason, I too am a BSG freak. Unfortunately, due to a move, I had to miss last nights episode, I actually cried...

Owen, I love the look of the shipboard scenes, which is why I created a ReelPak preset to emulate it. It's my favorite of all the movie looks I've done.
 
Yeah I missed BSG last night too -- got it recorded though so I'm looking forward to it later this evening. I loved the ending of the the previous ep -- both visually and musically. The season 1 finale also stood out musically.

David: The "Colonial" example grab looks great! I'd love to see a clip of it in action.

I don't know what ReelPak is. Can you elaborate?
