So just installed FCP7 on computer, shot a project on my DVX in letterbox mode, (not squeeze mode) as I normally do. FCP set up for DV-NTSC capture, timeline for 720 x 480, all usual settings as I used on old version of FCP. My problem is, when I drop my footage into the timeline on FCP 7, it asks me if I want to conform sequence to footage, and if I do, footage shows up flattened and seq settings now show "anamorphic" box checked. If I don't conform seq to footage, it shows up even more flattened.
Tried a test of shooting some footage in normal mode in DVX, with no letterbox on it, and it captured and dropped into seq just fine. So I don't get it. Letterbox mode in DVX is just normal mode with black bars on top and bottom. Anyone had this problem, and anyone got a fix for it? Thanks.
