Nancy Schreiber when filming "November" says the best way to get a good depth of field is to use as "long a lens" as possible.

What is the longest lens? OR What is the BEST lens for the LOWEST price? OR What is the happy medium between quality and cost?

Email me back if you know this.

Thanks a lot!
Dave

Re: DVX Lenses

Dave I might just point out that not one of the focal lengths shown in that link are available on DVX. The DVX has a built in fixed 4.5mm - 45mm zoom lens you can't change the lens. You can however attach adapters to the front of the lens that multipy the focal length by fixed amounts such as .6x and 1.6x.

Yeah, sorry, that was meant to be a joke. I should have used a smiley to indicate such. But yes, that is one lens -- a 300x optical zoom lens developed for NASA.

But it does demonstrate the concept of a "long" lens for Dave. You can see how, as the lens zoom in, the focal length indicated gets longer.

tawsy's post summed up the DVX's long lens situtation pretty well.
