DVX LCD brightness

So I shoot a ton of weddings with my DVX (have a Frezzi Micro fill as my light)- and I get some good quality shots with it.

However- I noticed that the brightness of the LCD on the DVX is not truly the brightness that ends up on tape. I have matched the LCD to my TV (closest thing I have to a monitor) and it too, looks a little brighter on the LCD.

This creates a huge problem because I have assistants who use my cameras and always forget this, resulting in a black as night wedding (not good).

So the question is- is there capability to adjust the brightness of the LCD?

Thanks!

Thanks, Barry. Any good suggested way to set this or is it more of a trial and error game?

Re: DVX LCD brightness

LCD's are always difficult to set because the picture varies so widely depending on your angle of view to the screen. But, turn the color bars on, and follow the instructions for calibrating color bars at http://www.videouniversity.com/tvbars2.htm

You won't be able to do a full accurate color setting, but you might be able to get it reasonably close. And while you're at it, try to do the same for your TV, so you'll have a better shot at seeing what the DVX has actually recorded.

Good luck!
