please help

i am a very proud but risky owner of a dvx100, the reason i say risky is that my dvx is NTSC and live in the UK PAL land. i love to make short films with my premiere pro 7.0 and after efx 6.0, i have now learnt that in order to get the full benefit's from my dvx i will have to get pro 1.5 with 25p project mode, is this true and what will be happening to my footage if i carry on using 7.0?

the reason i took the risk with the dvx ntsc is that once i have burnt my footage to dvd it seems to work ok in a multi-region dvd player. what problems will i encounter having a NTSC dvx in PAL land?

i would be so greatful 4 any help
many thanks

..youll possibly have lots of problems with the whole NTSC in PAL land issue.. but i dont see why youd want to edit NTSC in 25p.
youd want 24p.. but nothing wil be wrong with your footage if you edit in 60i in 7.0 AKA ppro 1.0 . just shoot in 24PN and edit in 60i and burn to DVD. youll be fine.. if you want native 24p support to make 24p DVDs youll have to get ppro1.5 but theres nothing wrong with using the built in telecine of 24PN and watching it as 60i on an NTSC DVD played back on a DVD player that doesnt seem to mind it when working with a PAL TV. if it works.. it works.
nothings going tohappen to you footage if you continue to do whats working now..its not going to stop working tommorow. its juat a matter of whther you want true 24p extraction. id imagine for your purposes you probably dont really need it. but if you do have a use for true 24p output.. yep time to upgrade to 1.5

firstly thankyou for your reply. sorry my mistake i meant to say 'edit in 24p' not 25p.
so your saying if a film in 24p not 24p advanced in ppro 1.0 i should b ok, but how do i choice to edit in 60i, i know i have a choice to create a new project in 25.00 or 29.97 f/s in the custom settings menu, is it to do with that or is the 60i setting some were else?
also do u think its going to make a difference for me making my ntsc footage in a PAL or NTSC project?
many thanks
