dvx handle

Re: dvx handle

well I can't see it hurting anything except the finish on your camera, why the gaffer tape?

Re: dvx handle

I don't think you'll mess anything up. It might be a little sticky after you remove it...

Re: dvx handle

Use gaffers, not duct. No residue.

The handle is hard plastic and won't be "damaged" or eroded by any tape I've ever used or seen. The only question is a sticky residue.

Re: dvx handle

i used to use a vx2000 to shoot live shows in an auditorioum. we had to gaff tape the wires to the handle so they wouldnt snag. this year i'll be using my dvx

Re: dvx handle

If you get residue on the handle, it's no big deal. Use denatured alcohol to clean the handle and it will be as good as new.

Re: dvx handle

just use zip ties, that is what I do and it works fine, no tape or stickyness to mess with, just cut it off whtn your done

Re: dvx handle

Camera tape is the safest to use. Gaffer tape is good, but it will take off the lettering on your DVX ( I know because I tape down my scene dial and it now has no letters :( )

Re: dvx handle

Didn't you just say in a post not too long ago that gaffers tape and camera tape are the exact same thing, except thinner?

Re: dvx handle

yes.. which is my point, a 1/4" strip is alot easier to pull off and will affect less surface area than a 2" slab of gaffer tape. to tape wires down, thats all you need.

Re: dvx handle

goo gone. the weak version. not the nuclear stuff. removes sticky residue. Just watch those letters. Test first on inconspicuous spot? Denatured alcohol will also prob work as mentioned. Tho I use that stuff mostly for cooking when backpacking..
