DVX... From Beach Camera

NO CA$H

Veteran
My DVX was delivered today. The first thing I saw when I opened the box was the DVX book + DVD. It also came with the magic bullet software. This means I got the Full USA warranty, right? Theres a card in the box that says "Panasonic Canada Inc. Warranty Statement". Theres also another card that says Service support guide. I'm confused.

I'm just glad I got the camera in one piece ordering from them. Those guys are the biggest assholes I ever had to deal with. I think they have one operator guy there thats why you have to wait so long on the phone.

Also, is it normal to hear something move around in the camera until you turn it on? i was freakin' out. Then when i turned the camera on it stopped.

Thanks in advance

Something is moving in the camera?

Dude; this is why you goto EVS. My camera never makes noise when turned off. That is just bizarre.

Sounds like you got a full legit US unit. Care to share what the total cost was, including all accessories and shipping? Not just the raw camera price, but what did you actually have to spend in order to get that package delivered to your door, and what all did it come with?

Grand Total came to $3,407.94. I bought the panasonic bag, a UV filter, and I got 2nd day delivery.

When I tilt the camera foward and back it sounds like something is moving. But when I turn it on it stops.

From the manual:
Q4: A rattling sound is heard when the camera recorder is tilted toward the front or back

A4: When the VCR mode is established or the power switch is at OFF, a rattling sound may be heard from the camera unit due to its structure. This is not indicative of malfunctioning.

not true, a common misconception. barry made the misconception too, as his was on of the affected units. the problem isnt bad, but if you have shot over 3 hours of footage, the camera will refuse to turn on. i hope you have a fun time exchanging it.

Are you sure its a defect? I read on lots of other forums its fine. Somebody with a JVC has the same sound when their cam is powered off. Plus the maual says its ok.

What does the rattle mean? I think mine has the problem you're talking about. It makes this light click sound when I tip back and forth. Did I get scammed? I bought it new w/ 4-year warranty and a lot of accessories....I'm scared, help.

In case this wasn't resolved:

It's nothing to worry about and completely normal. It's the optical stabilizer; and when the camera is turned off, it just spins back and forth and makes a weird sound!

I get a lot of false information on this site

Man I couldn't believe you guys were stringing NO CA$H on like that!!!!!!!!! That's funny.

And that's what you get for not buying it from EVS!!!
