DVX courses?

Hello,
I'm kind of a noob to this site, and am currently working with a sony vx2100, but am planning on buying a DVX100B sometime in the next six months after getting the money. However, before making the switch, my parents (because i'm still in highschool) say they would feel more comfortable with me doing it if there was some sort of hands on type thing i could do to learn it, or get experiecne with it before i bought it. So i was wondering if anybody knew of any colleges or places that may teach mini-courses or anything with the DVX (preferabely in the midwest area, but it doesnt have to be), or even any good books or cd tutorials.
thanks

Well Barry Green's book on the DVX is supposed to be a great resource for anything relating to the DVX. I have yet to recieve mine, but judging from all the great reviews it's gotten I'll reccomend it too. Playing around with it after reading the book and manual should help you get a better feel for the camera. I don't know of any courses you could take though.

If you're already comfortable with a vx2100, I don't think you'll have a hard time making the switch. All the basics will be almost identical. You'll just have to play around with the added internal image controls that the DVX provides. Honestly, you can just use the preset scene files until you get comfortable with the extra stuff.

This place is a great resource, has just about everything the dvx book has and more. Plus theres some smartasses here :D
