DVX as playback in CS3 Vista

I am trying to use a television as a playback monitor with my DVX, and although I can capture with the DVX, I can't get the camera to serve as a playback monitor.

Any tricks or magic words I should be using?
 
i'm editing a DV widescreen project. I'm trying to get a different camera to work and it's a no go as well.
 
I believe my issue has to do with my 1394 driver, and I'm currently looking for alternate drivers for my XP HP DV7 laptop. No luck yet.
 
Can you capture from the DVX?

The DVX can do what you want. i don't remember the exact settings offhand, but if you have your computer able to capture from the DVX, then the firewire functionality is there... you have to set up Premiere to know that it's exporting to an external DV device, and you have to enable passthru on the DVX, but yes it can do it.
 
click on the "project" tab along the top bar on cs3, then follow, Project - Project settings - General, then click on playback settings, a box should pop up with various options, make sure you have external device set to "dv 25i, 576 720" (this will obviously read differently if your an ntsc user) and you should be good to go, and also keep your camera set to vcr mode or you won't get a signal to your TV.
