DVX and moisture problems?

Hello all,
I just signed up last week. My name is Phil and I'm looking to purchase a DVX 100B. I know, HD is out and why would I be buying an SD camera? Well, frankly, so far, I'm not totally sold on HD yet. As far as the "prosumer" end goes anyway. I'm waiting for the dust to settle. I'm a huge After Effects user, and I've heard that HD does not work properly in AE.

Anyway, I've heard something about the DVX 100 having some sort of moisture problem? I guess it's comparable to the older VHS days and dew?
Have any of you current owners experienced this before?

Thanks,
Phil

I havent. I even filmed in the rain with no cover or protection and got it wet all over. result = no problem !

I shoot mainly outdoor hunting/fishing video, and have never had any moisture issues with my DVX.

And I remember the old VHS-c consumer cams that used to "dew detect" when a drop of water hit the camera, matter of fact my father still has one of those dinosaurs and it cost us some great footage when his wouldn't turn on do to "dew detect":(

H Guys
I have had my DVX100 shutdown due to moisture when I have been in Air con and then ventured out on a hot humid day.
happens a fair bit in my area of Australia
regards
Col

Any camera will shut down if you go from extreme cool to hot or vice versa, condensation forms inside the camera in those situations, but I wouldn't say it is a problem limited specifically to the DVX100.

moisture problem happen quite often in singapore as well...especially when the temperture changes very drastic... its usually happen when u start out of the car,
just remember to put your cam in your bag or away from air con before stepping out .
