DVX Accessories List

I plan to get my DVX100B in the next 2 weeks and have quite a bit to put towards accessories. My fear is ill get way more than is needed. Here is a list I came up with as what I might consider bare minimum. What do you guys think?

DVX100B (duh, lol)
Petrol PCUB-1 Bag
DVX 5600Mah Battery
B+W 72mm UV Filter
Location Sound Package 1 - Link
2300W Continuous Fresnel Kit - Link

Tripod (already own) - Bogen 3063

Thats about the basic things I plan to buy. I'm pretty happy with the tripod and think it will suffice for now. The sound package and light might come later (not too long) but I think its easier to put them here now so I dont have to ask later about them.

Total - $1300 (without DVX)

Pretty expensive but I think its a very basic setup for a small indy movie production. So what do you think about all this stuff? Got any other suggestions, changes, etc. please share because to me the accessories, sound, and light are more if not just as important as the camera.

Thank looks pretty good for basic accessories, but don't forget about tapes. Go for the Panasonic MQ tapes and use them exclusively.

I have the Rode NTG-2 and it's a great mic for the price.

In my opinion, that light kit is your weakest link. Those are "fresnel style" lights and not true fresnels with lenses. You're budgeting around $600 for lighting. You could find a couple used "real" fresnels and be much happier. Or, you could throw down a little extra skrill and get something like this...

I agree about the light kit. You already have a great camera and sound setup spec'd out, and you simply cannot sacrifice the lights. I agree about finding some good used fresnels, like some Mole-richardsons or Arris, check ebay. Also, never underestimate the power of grip gear! I'm talking clips, c-stands, light stands, gels, etc etc....However, those lights will get you alot farther than home-depot work lights! Add in a few pieces of black and white foam core and some black wrap for light control, and you'll be in a pretty good spot for small interiors
