Hello. I've been reading the wealth of information this site has to offer steadily for two weeks now. I had pretty much decided to shoot my next short on the DVX-100A. But now I learned that I have access to a Sony DSR-390. So this is my dilemma. I would just test the cameras myself and find out which one to go with, but that's not a possiblity right now. The DSR-390 has 1/2" chip compared the DVX-100A's 1/3" chip, and it has a higher resolution of 800 lines compared to the DVX-100A's 500. The short that I will be shooting will have a final ouput to DVD. So my question is: is the higher resolution of the Sony a reason to choose it over the Panasonic's "film-like" motion and cine-gamma qualities? Which will give me the better image for a dramatic narrative film, in your opinions? I greatly appreciate the input of all you qualified DVXusers. Thanks.
