DVX 100 Headphone Output Issue

Hello: I have the older DVX 100 and cannot hear very well out of the headphone output - low output and very hissy. Has anyone tried a headphone amp with the DVX 100? I know of a few companies that sells headphone amps for portable CD players:

The headroom amp is about $150.00. I also found a cheaper one for under $50.00 - cannot remember where at the moment. The headphone output on the DVX 100 is a major drawback for me. I would really like to know how other are dealing with this.

I use a boostaroo all the time.. they sell them at boostaroo.com and radioshack for less than $30. Its not the cleanest solution, but gives you a very good idea what you are getting.

dvx-100 can be only amplified in vtr mode
te 100 a in camera as well , if you running ext amp , hook it to rca auts , you will get more clean audio
another thing , if the amp doesnt have left , right or stereo ability ,you can add the witch before

Try different headphones too. Headphones have different impedance ratings, and I find with Sony 7506's that I have no trouble hearing through the DVX.

true, I use a Sennheiser HD 25 and can't turn the volume up much more than 60% or it'll blow my head of.

When I first got my camera DVX100, I noticed the problem but then once I hooked up a good mic or better yet my wireless system, I was able to hear good audio from the headphone jack.
