DvRigPro

Re: DvRigPro

I get the access denied message too, Danny. And I still don't see how the 357 base attaches to the 503 head. Sorry.

Omar, if you find a solution at a machine shop, please post the specs here. Thanks.

Re: DvRigPro

Sorry for the bad links.

Go to: http://www.dvtec.tv/_wsn/page16.html

The photos are there.

Read this again:

"Any QR assambly has two parts, a base and a camera plate.

The bottom of the 357 base is same as your whatever camera.

Take your whatever brand camera plate and screw it in the standard 1/4" thread at the bottom of the 357 base.

Now slide the two parts to your whatever tripod head.

You now have the matching 357 base, ready to accept the 357 DvRigPro camera plate.

Manfrotto 357 is same as Bogen 3273. "

Tell me if it is clear now.

Danny.

Re: DvRigPro

So the plate that comes with the 503 would remain sort-of permanently in the head? And the 357 base comes with a standard threaded hole, and would be attached to the 503's plate permanently?

Omar, if I understand what Danny's saying, you have a sandwich that, from bottom to top, is:

503 head
503 standard plate
357 base
357 plate
camera

It's the 357 plate that you would use for QR. What do you think?

Re: DvRigPro

B&H, EVS Etc.

Or from me, 357 BASE, 40 USD, By air mail, shipping included.

Re: DvRigPro

Oh yes, Some of our European dealers are ordering all the rigs with an extra 357 base.

Danny.

Re: DvRigPro

It is the Manfrotto 357.01 and it is 40$ shipping included.

some people reported that surprisingly the base only cost almost same as the set.

Danny.

Re: DvRigPro

OK!

Maybe, I was just slow, but it never occurred to me that I should just buy another plate and base, and mount it on top of the 503. Many thanks, Danny. The bottom-most of your pics straightened it out for me, and while this arrangement may make it a little harder for me to zip up my 503 in its trusty bag, it's a small price to pay for the convenience I was after.

Many thanks again.

new Belt holster for DV Rig Pro

new Belt holster for DV Rig Pro

I was wondering if anyone could tell me where I can find a replacement pert for my DV Rig Pro. I need to get a new Belt holster, which holds the stabilizer bar, because mine ripped.

Thanks

That seems like a design flaw as my buddies DVRig holster did too.

DVRigPro

DVRigPro

I was interested in purchasing a DVRigPro. Can you tell me any details about whether this is a good purchase I have a $1200- $1500 budget? I wanted a support system that just takes the fatigue out of shooting 8 hour days. I have two upcoming shoots that will be happening late into the night.

Should I get a tripod instead or some different type of equipment like sound or light, etc. because the only thing I really own right now is the DVX100B camera. And I realize once you have some equipment those that don't will definitely want your help on their projects because I worked with someone on a previous project and now they know I have a camera and offered me to be the sole D.P. (They also have are in need of someone to help do postproduction work so maybe I should step up to the plate and offer my services too?)

But if anyone can offer me advice on where I can get a good support system before this Sunday 7/19/06 I'd appreciate it too.

The dvrig is great for shooting 8 hour days. Your arms will not get tired. What will happen is that you will have to stretch out and rest your should periodically because of the weight that's on it but that's not a problem. I sued the DVrig on shooting the BTS of a local production. I was there everyday for a week for 8 hr days and it surely came in handy. I also use it to shoot on the go field interview because of how steady I can hold it for prolonged periods. Do remember though that it's not a steadicam and how steady it is depends on you and how you move.

I used mine to shoot two shorts last week. It's a great product. Not only does it relieve arm fatigue, but it delivers more of a shoulder-mount cam look (IMHO).
