DVRig pro issues...

I've been reading through past posts for a couple of hours now and haven't really been able to find the exact answers to my questions:

1. When the DVrig is on my shoulder, the camera can slide back and forth on the base plate. I've tried tightening the side lever on the base plate, but for the camera to be locked into position on the baseplate, the base plate will no longer slide horizontally to be in the middle of the support bars. Otherwise, with the base plate slid over into the middle of the support bars, I cannot tighten the base plate screw lever tight enough to prevent forward and backward movement of the camera. I have a set of allen keys but none of mine fit the lever screw in order to adjust its position. Am I doing something wrong, or do I just need to run out to Home Depot or someplace and find the right allen key.

2. Again, with the DVrig on my shoulder, when I remove my hands (standing still), the camera support rod veers to the right ~ obviously taking the camera with it. I have been adjusting for hours now, but to no avail. I've shifted the back weight completly to the left and then started slowly bringing it to the right in order to find its balance, but the camera continues to veer to the right. I'm having trouble reaching that "floating" point people speak about.

3. I'm only 5'6" - I read in previous posts that for smaller people it is sometimes necessary to bend the brace so that the back weight comes in closer to my back. How "close to my back" do the back weights need to be? I don't want to overbend or underbend. thanks. ::)

4. the support rod feels a bit "jumpy" or like it gets a little stuck as I slide it up and down. Does anybody use a lubricant to get the movement smoother?

I will help.

Tighten the lever all the way towrds you, Then pull it to the left, Turn 1/4 turn up, Realese. You are set.

Place holster in middle of belly, Slide camera to middle of the front bar, Position the support point to middle of the front bar.

Check balance with your right hand holding the grip. note that
when your hand is down your shoulder has more slope !

If still needed insert a piece of plastic hose to the sleave found between the padded cusion and the metal brace.

Bend it almost 90 degrees, Do not worry.

Lubricant will not help here. try to losen just a bit the tiny allen screw that is holding the collar to the tube.

Take few photos of your self, front back and profile. Mail them to me and I will correct your setup.

Re: DVRig pro issues...

Thanks Danny, that's so kind of you. I'll make all of those adjustments you suggested and then take the photo. I'm really happy with the construction of the DVrig, by the way, ;) just working on the adjustments.
