DVR devices

Is it possible to, in any way, to record from the HVX to a DVR device that isn't a Firestore. I have a RCA DVR-10 lying around.

If it isn't possible, is it possible to connect the DVR to my computer and use it to store footage? XP isn't able to find drivers when it tries to install the device. Any way to get around this?

Thanks!

do you mean like a tivo? or one from the cable company? even if you could, i wouldnt think that would be a good idea at all. im sure it would add loads of compression that would negate shooting with a good camera.

Yea, the manual says it's made primarily for TVs, but it *is* an 80 GB HD recording device with firewire connections. It was given to me by a friend, so I'm not sure if its restricted to just television recording use.

If it has a DV port, it can probably talk DV25 (the MiniDV format). So maybe recording SD is possible, HD is highly unlikely.
