DVexpo vendor specials

Does anyone know if during DVexpo vendors are more willing to negotiate on price or run specials? I plan to check it out in NYC and I would be looking to pick up a few things like a bag, maybe filters, a shotgun mic for the dvx. Thanks for any info. :thumbsup:

Is there an Expo taking place soon or something?
 
Ah, crap. I'm flying in on the 20th, my Father's birthday is on the 21st. No time before it ends.

Maybe I'll just check the dumpsters at the Javits afterward, since I'll probably be heading to B&H anyway the day after.

Usually vendors don't want to carry all their stuff back with them, so they may give you a discount on the last day of the show, especially on bulky equipment. You can arrange the deal earlier, but you can't pick up the merchandise until the show ends.
 
I hadn't thought of that. Thank you. I just thought they might run promos during the show. FYI, I went to B&H yesterday and they said they thought they would have some specials - but they wouldn't elaborate on specifics.
 
B&H usually has a handout with "show specials" at N.A.B.; maybe they do the same for DV Expo, I don't know.

16x9 had a show special at DV Expo West, presumably they will offer some at DV Expo East as well... SAMY's often has show specials. Matthews sells grip equipment on the N.A.B. show floor for something like 25% off. So sometimes there are show specials at these shows. Usually not overwhelmingly cheap, like B&H's NAB special was 10% off Century Optics lens adapters etc.
