DVDxDV Software?

Has anyone used this software yet?
I want to purchase it for my new video studio
running FCSP2 with new Mac software.

However when I downloaded the trial
it said that it expired already.

Anyone know anything about this software?

I use it a lot... the "Pro" version works better bnecause it allows you to extract a section of a VOB rather than the whole thing.

I've found DVDxDV to work better than anything else I've tried, especially in regards to audio sync!

i use mpeg streamclip which i like a lot. uses quicktime's mpeg2 decoder to decode DVDs to your hard drive. i think it does parts of VOBs but i dunno, never tried. just grab the whole thing and cut.

OK I'm also a newbie when it comes to video editing, is this something easy to pick up?
The reason I'm doing this is because I'm trying to edit old VHS tapes for someone and
I transfered them to DVD, now I need to get them into my system. Will this be good
for editing or grabbing large video files?

DVDxDV is better. Better quality encode, easier to set IN and OUT points. And if the DVD is one that was made with a recorder, and has several things on it, only DVDxDV can see them all separately. I have had huge issues with MPEG STREAMCLIP. But, what you should do is try MPEG S first, since it is free, and if it doesn't work, get DVDxDV.

I have nothing by praise for DVDxDV.
