DVDSP Write Errors

All of the sudden I'm getting write errors when I am building/formatting discs in DVDSP 4: 'The recording deviced reported the media error. Write error (0x0C, 0x00.)' I'm using Maxell printable 4.7GB DVD-Rs...I've used them for years with no problems. I'm on a 1.8DP G5, OS 10.4, A09 drive. The project is 2.9GB, one menu, 3 tracks.

I just tried doing the same thing with Sony DVD-Rs, and again with some off-brand DVD+Rs...same problem. I think it's safe to say that it's not the media. It's either DVDSP or the drive.

When I do the build and format, DVDSP muxes it just fine, then it goes to 'Writing lead-in data, then after that it sits and does nothing. So, I'm burning up disc after disc trying to get that once-in-a-while working disc.

I had this problem before as well where it would just sit there and do nothing. I think I ended up reinstalling the program and it's been working fine ever since.
 
I turned the machine off, and left if off for two days. Then I started it up. Trashed the DVDSP Prefs, and restarted. Been fine ever since! Don't know if it was trashing the prefs that helped, or maybe the machine maybe just needed to take a nap.
