DVDSP and 24pa (quick question)

If i shoot in 24pa and edit in a 23.98 timeline
and export using DV NTSC 48 kHz - 23.98

do i need to change anything in DVD Studio Pro
to let it know that it is in 23.98 and not 29.98?

sub question:
if i am shooting a documentary and planning
on a DVD release, what would be the difference
in shooting in 24p and 24pa?

thanks in advance for the help

Nope if you do everything right it will automatically sense. You can tell by looking at the compressor settings- it should go to 23.98 no field dominance.

Shoot24p--->Work on a 29.97timeline---->Export into compressor. You have a regular (60i) DVD.
Shoot24pa--->Work on 23.98timeline---->Export into compressor. You have a 24p DVD.
DVD players will play both of them fine. Those who own 24p pulldown dvd players wil theoratically have a better picture.(Lesser jerks, especially in pans)
Also, you can fit more content into a 24p DVD...
