I just watched the American Beauty DVD and there is an excelent comentary with the Director of Photography and Director.

I really liked how they spent so much time talking about the lighting used in the movie.

What other DVDs have really good comentaries?

Road to Perdition (also by Sam Mendes) has an excelent commentary. He is able to juggle talking about the technical aspects and the directorial aspects very well.

Most of David Fincher's tracks are good (Seven & Fight Club being standouts) If you can find it locally, pick up the Panic Room 3-disc special edition. Lots of great technical stuff there.

I thought PT anderson's commentary track on Boogie Nights was very impressive....I highly advise a listen to it if you have spare time, He spoke with the actors seperately and then mixed it together....
