DVDA2 question

Greetings all. Quick question: How do I set up the DVD so when a chapter plays and I press Stop, it goes to the top menu, not the DVD player startup screen?

Re: DVDA2 question

Thanks, Gary, I was afraid of that. To get around the issue, I disabled "stop" when chapters are playing, which will force viewers into learning to press "menu." Hope I'm not expecting too much from them! ;)

Re: DVDA2 question

Well, if they press stop, then they'll eventually have to press menu anyway...I'm saving them a step?? It's not a paid thing, it's for family. Should I just tell them about the navigation deal?

I can't believe there's no way to return to the main menu when stop is pressed. It just doesn't make sense to me... :-/ Sorry if this sounds like whining.

I appreciate all you guys' help, and I'll follow your advice. No other way around this?

Re: DVDA2 question

If they press "menu" in the middle of playback, it will go to menu. If that's what they want to do, that's the button they'll press.

If they want to stop the disc, they press stop.

I don't get why that's so onerous?

Re: DVDA2 question

This is for a live music performance, with several songs on the main menu. If a viewer chooses one song, then wants to stop and go back to the menu, I think it would be more intuitive to just press stop. Press menu, press stop, whatever. It all takes you to the menu.

Perhaps in this context it makes more sense? Or am I just a dumbass? :P Sorry to belabor a moot point.

Re: DVDA2 question

I think that anybody that has used a DVD player will allready know that pressing "stop" will stop the DVD completely. They should also know that pressing "menu" will bring you to the menu screen. I don't think you are giving the family enough credit, unless this is their first DVD ever.

If you haven't guessed, this is the first DVD I've authored. Sorry if I've wasted anybody's time. :-[

Don't worry about it. It was a valid question. That's what this forum is for.
