DVDA templates question

What are the settings in DVDA with lower resolutions mentioned 352x288 does the dvd standard allow such resolutions which are lower than the fixed standards. And we can fit vcd sized videos and have many movies on one disc ? I mean there are templates within the project settings list with lower resolutions. What are these for ? Will a dvd created with these templates end up still being 720x480/576 or can it actually create a dvd with 352x288 resolutions ?,, And players will recognize that as a standard regulation dvd with menus etc ?

Those are the resolutions to which any material will be recompressed if not already compliant with DVD Architect. I believe they are VCD resolutions.

So that means irrespective of the resolution, DVDA will ultimately compress it to 720x480/576 right ? Then why is there a low resoltion template. We would have to just choose either PAL or NTSC dvd templates and any material imorted would resize to that standard. So whats the point on giving smaller resolutions. Im wondering if its possible to create a dvd with low resolution (hence more duration). Like those 6 in one movie discs we get at cheap dvd sales. Not that im working on a project which needs this but just to know the how and why. Might come in handy someday.

No, only material which needs to be recompressed because it doesn't conform to the standard. Anything which conforms will be left as-is.

You can create low-resolution, low-size video when you export, by manipulating the quality controls under MPEG-2.

And on the DVDA menu creation. Theres a way to have a box of color around text buttons. Rectangle, Text Mask etc etc. But how does one get effects such as an arrow moving to each and every button when the mouse gets near it. Or the text slowly glows brighter when the mouse is over it. And how does one make sure when they click the button. It changes or opens up (oyster egg) or some sorta video element that would give an animated effect ?

If you go into the button properties, you can find things like object mask, text mask, etc.. You would use the text mask to highlight words.

You can create shapes in programs like Photoshop and use them as buttons, using the object masks. You can even make them transparent, so that the mask is the only thing you see.

Can you plz explain what you mean by your last line. You mean the button is invisible and only the mask is seen ? Hypothetically why would someone use that for what kind of effect. Just to learn. DVDA aint as intuitive as Vegas is. Honestly. LOL.
