Here's the current workflow...
Project was injested into an Avid Media Composer v2.6 at DV50. It's a 16:9 aspect ratio. Composer is now at v3.0
I do a video mixdown of the footage keeping it at DV50 (editor has a ton of video tracks, so i'm trying to keep it simple for export), then I export a QTR file at 720x480. I import that into Cinema Craft.
I'm creating a single side dual-layer dvd with 6 1hr programs on one disc. (Not my choice). Compressing at 6 passes with a VBR at 2.81. I've checked the 16:9 box.
I import that MPEG 2 file into DVD Studio Pro...create my tracks....the usual basic DVD workflow and check 16:9 in DVD Studio Pro....build....then import the Video TS folder into DVDAfter Edit for output to DVD.
The problem I'm getting is the footage is very jagged and giddering. I'm also finding that the 16:9 is not correct. I'm going to try another export out of AVID, but Cimena Craft only accepts 720x480 files (i've tried others)
Does anyone have an idea as to what I could be doing wrong? Any suggestion as to a better workflow? I was brought into this project at the end, so my imput is a bit limited.
ANY suggestion would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
