DVD Studio Pro2 PC playback trouble

Greetings all,

I just burnt a DVD using DVD studio Pro 2. Everything worked out fine, the DVD plays fine on my mac as well as on my stand alone DVD player. However the disc will not play on a PC.

Does anyone know why, or if there is a fix for this?

Thanks - Ed

if it works on a dvd player then it's cool,
on the pc side what program are you using to view the dvd?

When i put it in the PC it asks if i want to open the video in Windows Media Player, I hit ok, and the player opens and says it cant read the disk.

Oddly enough, i just found a PC that it plays on, so i am assuming the issue is with the PC and its software not the disc and or the way it was burned.

windows media player, let me see if i can remember correctly, open media player first, then go to play then choose the cdrom player, that should play the menu and insert the tracks to the playlist, try that.

By Default, Windows XP does not have an mpeg-2 decoder installed, meaning DVD playback is impossible without a Mpeg-2 directshow codec.

I have not tested windows Vista default codecs.
