I'm confused as heck right now. Please someone tell me what the heck I'm doing wrong. Here's my situation. All I'm trying to do is create a one button title to play my demo reel. I create a text button, then hit control click and assign the button to track 1. I go to build and let it do it's thing then burn. When I put it into my dvd player the play button doesn't work, however when I play it on a computer I can double click on the play button I've created and it plays just fine. Shouldn't the play button on the dvd activate the button I've created? I'm tired so please forgive me if I'm not being clear....spent way to long on the edit(: Any links or explanations would be sooooo appreciated.

Thanks

Have you tryed another DVD Player? Have you tryed just hitting select on the remote? if both of these options don't work. And you just wont your movie to play. Just make a auto run DVD. Import your assets in and put them in track one and track one audio. Then go over to the node view (The one with the color boxes) You should see a blue box that says Menu and a green on that says track one. It might be the other way around I'm not sure. Click on the menu box and delet it. Now go over to the track one box control click on it and click first play. So now what will happen when you build and format your dvd and you put it in a dvd player it will just play. No button or selection needed. Now when you build it you might get some warrning messages don't worry about them. This is how I do all my demo reels. that way they just put in the dvd and they are looking at my work not trying to figure out how to play the dumb thing. Hope this works for you good luck

Thanks alot for the replies guys....Im still set on getting it right with the play button though, eventually I'll have to use it on say 99% of my projects..lol. Anyhow once again all I want to do is make the darn play button work on a dvd player. This has to be simple, I'm just missing it, or is something wrong with my program. Cygnet you have told me to do what I have already done, this is what I would expect to work, but it's not. I guess I'll waste another day trying to figure what should be the simplest of tasks. Thanks again for the replies, any other ideas or insights would be helpful.

Also, make sure you have your button set as the "default button" in your menu. I do this all the time and it works. You may want to use a Drop Zone in stead of a text box, too.

figured it out

figured it out

ok so i figured it out. I used a template to start out with and erased and moved some buttons bla bla, and messed up the button routing config. I started from scratch and it solved my problem! total user error(: Thanks for all the replies.
