DVD Studio Pro questions?

Hey everybody,

I am working on a project in DVD STP and I got two questions:
- I have a different font I wanna use in DVD STP but I am not able to import it. I tried dropping it in all the font lists I have on my comp and I've used the lettertypecatalogus, but it still doesn't appear in DVD STP. What am I doing wrong here?
- I have created a button to use in the program but there are only a few colors to choose from for the buttons. Why can't I select a custom color for the buttons?

I hope someone knows the answer to this. Thank you in advance

Niels

I forgot to say that I tried dropping another color on the button and that works, but then it stays on the button at all times. I need the button to be transparent in normal state, custom color while selected and transparent again when activated. I can't seem to find a way to do that?

For the font problem, I don't know why it doesn't show up in DVDSP, but you can workaround that by building menus in photoshop or motion.

As for the custom color, select your button. click on the colors tab in the inspector. At the bottom is a button called 'Edit palette'. select this and some more colors appear. Click on one and a color wheel opens up. Select a custom color and it will replace the one you picked in the color key drop down. To make it transparent, adjust the opacity for the normal and activated states.

Hey Mike,

You have know idea how helpful that all ready was and how much stress that took away from me.
I solved the font problem, it was a problem with the name of the file, so that is ok again. Because of your advice I solved the problem with the custom color, but the text next to the button, stays one color. The text has to be the same custom color while activated, but has to be a different color while the status is normal. So text and button should be different from each other in commands, but have to listen to the command at the same time. Any ideas how to do that?

For more information, I chose the color now by right clicking on it and change the color of the font. By doing that it stays one color.

Anyone else knows how to make the button and the text work at the same time, but in different ways, like in the picture beneath:

In order to do this, you will have to make custom buttons and write the text in photoshop/motion. One example would be to make the button 100% black, and make the text 33% black. Then in DVDSP, you can key the colors to different colors... that way you can have them look the same in the activated state, but different in normal. Make sense?

Hey Mike,

Somehow it worked by just checking the include text in highlight, so I solved it combined with the color palette advice you gave me earlier. Thanks a lot for the advice.
