DVD Studio Pro: First Play settings

THis is the first time I have used DVD SP extensively with the project I am working on now, and I am having a problem with the First Play setting. The layout of the dvd is as follows: Intro video that is set to the background of the "first play" menu; transitions to the Main menu and subsequent menus and tracks after. My problem is that after I insert the DVD and play through the first play intro and then I stop it, when I resume playback it always begins with the first track and skips any menu altogether. I have to remove and reinsert the disc in order for it to begin again with the intro.

That's how it works- some DVD players will automatically resume from last play point rather than start of disc upon reload.

I know but it doesn't resume from the last play point it always starts with that first track. I have tried it on a number of players. Most dvd players now if you press stop twice it cancels the auto resume anyway.
 
If you want it to always start with the intro, then you'll have to set your DVD menu guides to the first play track (or menu). You do this on the disc window (the track or menu window when nothing is selected) under remote control. Set title menu and return to the first play.

Edit: I think I missed what you were trying to do.
 
I tried setting the remote control options: title, menu, and return all to the intro menu but it still has the same problem. Basically I am using a menu to play the intro video so that I can have a "skip intro" button available during the opening.
 
Try on a different DVD player. If your first play and title settings are going one place and the player is going elsewhere it's the player not your disc.
