I just created a 16:9 DVD, but for some reason when I viewed the DVD on a 16:9 monitor display, it letterboxed the video and stretched it out. When set the monitor display to 4:3 the monitor did not letterbox the top and bottom. Instead it put bars on the left and right side. When I viewed it on another monitor with a 4:3 display, there was letterboxing and bars on the left and right side. The aspect ratio displayed correctly through QT player.
Did I not set up the aspect ratio correctly in DVD Studio Pro? I'm pretty sure I set it to 16:9 letterbox, which I had read was the correct setting.
Just to give some info on my workflow, the video was shot with a Sony Z7U with 1080i and 24p settings. I began editing in Final Cut Express and finished in Final Cut Pro. I exported as a 10 bit uncompressed QT file, and selected a file size of 720 X 480 16:9. (I chose a file size divisible by 16 to avoid getting a green line in compressor). I brought the file into compressor and chose DVD best quality preset. Aspect ratio was set to 16:9. I brought the file into DVD Studio Pro. The project was set to 16:9.
Is there a DVD Studio Pro setting I might have missed?
