DVD Studio Pro 4 Question

I'm considering investing in this software. I've heard good things about it. I have a question about how interactive the menus are. For example; my kids watch an Elmo DVD, and one of the bonus features is a game where you decide which object doesn't belong. If you get it right, Elmo says good job and you go back to the game. If you get it wrong he tells you to try again. Can SP4 do stuff like that?

Anybody have any other recommendations for good authoring software. I use a Mac and optons seem to be limited.

dvd sp is a terrific program, though I have NOTHING ELSE to compare it too. I've never even used iDVD. some people actually use iDVD for professional uses, so there must be something right about it..that said I think those dvds are authored in 1/3 the time it takes me, but my dvdsp dvds have more options..

yes you can do the elmo jump back. lots of ways to jump back. I think the slideshows are pretty weak though. WEAK.yes.

I'm reading the product specs on the compusa site and it says that it requires a superdrive. I use an external LaCie D2. Does that mean I can't use it?

If that's the case, what kind of DVD authoring software is out there for a Mac? I can't seeem to use iDVD without a superdrive, and I can't find anything else that's mac compatible except for Toast, whch is ridiculousy limited in features.

i usually format the disc in dvdsp and then burn it in toast.

which might me you'd have to buy that app, too. there is such tihng as toast lite and it might be free with something else?

I forget. but I do that and it works. toast is a pretty good app. I think I use that to burn the discs because you can pull out the layout files which makes the disc readable in set tops and on the computer (too many details)
