DVD Studio Enlarging Files

I'm working on a large project that should just fit on a single layer DVD. The problem is that DVD studio keeps making everything bigger- or at least estimating it to be bigger.

So I compressed and compressed and dumped in some tiny files. Still to large for the DVD. Then I realized that it is getting file size from video length and not file size.

Does this mean I should lower my bit rate? If I lower my bit rate so the estimated size matches the actual file size, that shouldn't hurt the video, right? Is there somewhere else I should be looking other than bit rate?

are you importing .m2v files from Compressor into the project? or are you bringing in .mov's? How long are all the videos put together?

Are you using the AIFF audio file or the Dolby 2.0 audio file? I've found that on large projects, the AIFF audio file will make the project too large to fit onto a DVD, even if you compress it to fit.

I'm importing .m2v for video and Dolby 2.0 for audio. Basically, the apple compressor presets for best quality DVD.

My videos all together are 1 hr 50 minutes. And the total pre-imported size for everything is 3.6 gigs.
