Forgive me if this is a lame question..but I want to check around again before I tell my clients the wrong thing...

I have clients that are moving to the U.K ( PAL ). Will they be able to watch my DVD (NTSC) on a regular TV set over there?

--if they bring their US bought DVD player

--they buy a DVD player over there and try to watch it.

I do not put region codes on my DVDs.

thanks

UK is in Region 2, as is Japan, so all players sold in Europe play NTSC as well as PAL. However, they'll transcode the chroma carrier frequency so that it will play back on a PAL TV, and all PAL TVs sold in the last 10-15 years will sync to 60hz, so the DVD will play back fine! If they try that with a USA DVD player, you might get it black and white, or it might work colour - not sure.

BTW, most players sold in the UK are region free.

Every PAL dvd player plays NTSC discs. Most of the newer (made in the past 10-15 years) TV sets support both NTSC and PAL signals, so it shouldn't be a problem for them to watch your region free DVDs on any decent equipment in Europe.

right - DECENT equipment, if euro - player has ability to play NTSC it will, most of them has,
older euro players - could be a problem.

All European players play NTSC - right from the start. It's the tellys you have to watch out for. If it's modern it's very most likely ok.
