DVD - setup, light & shoot interview

Has anyone seen this DVD called "how to setup, light & shoot interviews" from vortexmedia.com ??? (these are the same people who gave us the "warm cards")

Jerry, Vortex's DVD is great. Well produced, very practical. If you do a search on it here in DVXuser you'll find more detailed praise. I highly recommend it.

I've never used any DVD's on lighting. I'm self taught. I just read books, but mostly, I just started doing it, and in the process began studying very closely how light looks in the real world. Once you truly see how light falls on objects and is diffused or hardened, you become much more skilled at faking those looks with lighting fixtures. I also highly recommend studying the good paintings. Painters have to "see the light" just as well as a DP....

Indeed, painting is really not much more than the creative use of light and shadow to simulate a 3d setting. With film and video you're stuck in the same issues that a painter is. You're working in a 2D medium trying to make things look as 3D as possible. Light is how you do that. The 3 point lighting system used in narrative work is used every day to add dimension to visual mediums.
