DVD ripping software for an old MacBook

Bit of an odd request here, but does anyone have recommendations for DVD-ripping software that will run on an old MacBook (5,1 model, late 2008) running Mac OS X 10.6.8?

I have a DVD that will only play on this machine. For some reason the Blu-Ray player in my Xbox One S doesn't play the disc. I would prefer not to drag out this ancient MacBook for viewing the DVD, and am hoping I can rip the disc and simply watch it on my current MacBook Pro or on my TV via PLEX.

If anyone has software suggestions—or other ideas for accomplishing this—I'd love to hear them. Thanks!

MPEG Streamclip or HandBrake...I have 3 MBPs from around 2008-2012 that all have both of those.

There are probably dozens of others out there (especially random overseas ones) but those were the two big ones back in the day as far as I remember.

Thanks for the tip!

I actually found the simplest way possible—simply use Disk Utility to make a disk image of the DVD. I didn't think an OS that old would have the capability, but I guess 10ish years isn't all that old for an OS (and this was probably more necessary back when physical media was more of a thing).

The DVD plays perfectly now in VLC on my daily driver MBP.

Def a nice way, too. Not sure about the sizes that way but the nice thing about other software is being able to compress the DVDs into different files/sizes (but not necessary for the one random use here and there).

In my case I think it ended up being about 1.7GB, which would've been pretty big back in 2008 but seems tiny now.

Also I was lucky in that the DVD didn't have DRM—in that case I think something like you mentioned would've been required.
