DVD questions

Trying to do some more advanced things on DVD arch now. I bought the seminar series and was pretty disapointed to see that these features, that I think can be done, were not covered:

How do you have buttons appear as opposed to always being on screen? Would this apply to imported PSD files as well if needed?

Items in video (vegas) can be selected as buttons in DVD? I've heard of this, and have no idea how it can be done.

Also, if anyone else is considering the seminar series, it's an ok buy - if you're a beginner. Though the navigation of the menus is annoying due to the exact same transition video and lame song. How they break up the classes does not work at all. The video your following is horrible quality and unwatchable when blown up on a computer screen. Boring narration and instruction.

I guess what getting at is...It's wonderful!

Actually it's more like you PAY to see an overview of the new features in Vegas (6). Doesn't go much deeper than that. May be a good thing for a beginner.

Not sure what you mean by "items in video (vegas) can be selected as buttons in DVD" but I'll make a guess. Under "Button Properties" subcategory "Media", if you look under "Thumbnail Properties", you can go to "Start Time" and pick a place in the video where you would like the animation to start. You would then go to "Style" and change the default to "Animated". If you go to your "Buttons" menu at the bottom of the DVDA window, you should be able to find a button that will look as though the video is the button.

I have not tried the making buttons appear technique but I did find a possible answer to this question by looking at the Help menu in DVDA. Go to the Index box and type in "Creating with Keyframes".

Hope this helps.
