DVD problems

I'm trying to burn a DVD with iDVD. When it's all done, I test it out with the Mac dvd player application and it works great. But when I test on my TV's dvd player, the chapters don't seem to work. The disc just spins and spins and nothing happens.

It's an old dvd player but I don't want to send the DVD to the client when I'm not sure if it burned properly. So my question is, do I trust the computer or the DVD player?

Your computer will play anything...its the tv top players that have compatability issues. The only things you can do to ensure maximum compatibility is burning at a slow speed (1 or 2X), keeping your bitrate reasonable (no more than 7mps) and using dvd-r dvd's. I use tdk dvd-r's and so far have had 1 or 2 come back as not readable (with a total of at least 150 sent out).
