I've noticed that dvd's are starting to become stupidly expensive. Is this due to illegal downloading? I mean most dvd's cost $19.99+. Tho they seem to cost less the first week they come out. But didn't dvd's used to cost $14 or less a long time ago? I don't like that they are so expensive now.

Actually, I've been buying DVDs since 1998, and they've *always* been around $20. WB dropped to $15 with a lot of their titles about 3 year ago, but $20 has been a baseline for as long as I've been collecting . . . and I've got about 500 in my collection.

Well, over here in the UK are more expensive. But since they always have promotions, I tend to buy them when they are really cheap.
Well, if it is a Disney movie, it certainly won't be that cheap, so I buy them before I dont' get the chance to buy again.
I didn't get to buy the 'Beauty and the Beast' because of this.

Depends on where you buy them. New releases at Wal-Mart go $12.88 to $25.00 depending on the movie, and company releasing it.
I know that they are using the Dual Layer DVD now on most of the DVDs. They are expensive and I haven't seen them in bulk yet, but I am sure they are out there. Printable DVD-R I get for 60cents a DVD.

They've been using dual-layer as the standard for most of the run of DVD. Only the earliest DVDs were single-layer.
They've never used DVD-R. That's a "home" format and the process for getting the data onto the disc is quite different.

They're starting to sell them at gas stations around here. The other day I got 3 Red Bulls, $15.00 worth of gas and I could have gotten "Master and Commander" on DVD for like $11.00 at the check out. They actually had a decent selection and this was in the middle of nowhere.

I absolutely agree with the Danzig thing, first album was cool and then... yuk. I haven't seen that ass kick video, where could I get a copy? There's a Misfits tribute band that plays around here and they are fantastic so I get a great reminder every 6 weeks or so ;D

wow, I had always heard that he was dangerously arrogant (dangerous to himself that is). I had heard that back in the day they would jump an entire bar (Misfits). I have a friend (working with him now actually) that was in a San Diego band that did that and they were beaten viscously by the crowd. I guess they were trying to be cool, he’s not proud of it. Adrenaline, testosterone, ego and on-looking female fans will get you beat down for sure. (That goes for bar fights in general I guess)
We have our own imaginary philosopher named “Confusion” (yes, that’s the opposite side of “Confucius”) and Confusion says…
“Never make eye contact with the really large man that just told the security guard to piss off”
“The taxi is a far preferred way to leave a club, as opposed to the ambulance or police cruiser”
“Ones own head is not the best way to stop another’s fist”
That’s just sad. It’s not that he was dropped (and on further review of the vid, that was not a glancing blow, that was a well placed knuckle burn), it’s that he started it in the first place.

Ebay is great for DVD's. Cheap, unless you have to have a brand new one. But even then you can still find good deals.
