I'm having issues with playlists in DVD Architect 3.0. I have a bunch of different songs from a concert saved as separate video files, and I've arranged the DVD with submenus to get to the list of songs for the different groups. So the main menu has a list of the groups, and then you click on a group and it brings up a list of their songs, so you can then click on the one you want to listen to and listen to just that one song. I also have a link on the main menu to "play all." This links to a playlist of all the songs in the order in which they were performed.
The navigation works perfectly when I preview it in Architect on my computer, but on every DVD player I've tried it does weird things to the navigation. Like when watching the "Play All" playlist, hitting the next button sometimes skips multiple songs. Or when you skip through the songs on the playlist and then stop and watch one, when it gets to the end of that particular song it will go back to the main menu instead of to the next item on the playlist. The DVD works better in my computer, but it won't skip between playlist items at all, maybe because the "next" button is looking for the next chapter, not the next playlist item.
The point is...it's really frustrating that playlists work one way in Architect, but not in DVD players, or even in DVD playing software. Has anyone else run into this? Do you have any suggestions for me? If I put the concert on the DVD as one big file, and then put chapter markers in, is there any way to set it so that you can select a chapter and have it play only that chapter, and not the whole video from that point on?
