DVD player

Client has asked me to recommend one of those portable DVD players that look like little laptop computers. Is there a way I can be sure they're compatible with a DVD-R that I burn on my Mac, or would they all be compatible?

Re: DVD player

I think most would be compatible. thats my experience.

i returned a 7' toshiba twice. stay away. it would freeze.

what is your budget?

Re: DVD player

if you can afford a Panasonic, get it.

I have one 5" and it is better than anything I've tried, though screen is too small. some small things I can't really explain..like the disc spin noise is much, much lower than everything else. it "picks up" faster? and I know, lame and superficial, but the real "DVD" logo makes a good impression vs. the homegrown image-logos on the other players. this is the first image that one sees when the player turns on. if I had to pick one that had the best reliability on formats it would be that.

Re: DVD player

Good info, Pooh! Since it's not my $$, I might as well recommend Panny. So it's not a problem that it's not progressive scan? I know there's a hyper-expensive Sony that has it.
