DVD Playback

hey i made my Short 24 ins long, i used premiere 2.0 to export to MPEG DVD then used to Encore 2.0 to burn to dvd.
my question is that the final dvd is oonly like 1.4 gb large, how can i use premiere to creat a larger thus better quality file for output...

When you output your video to a DVD MPEG-2 you should encode 2 passs variable for best results. DVD specifications only allow the data stream to go up to 9 megabits a second so the most you will be able ot make your 24 minute video is 1.44 gigs. Even though this is the maxium you can do for DVD quality you shold probably set your target bitrate for around 8 at the maximum becasue some dvd players have trouble playing such a high bitrate DVD and either dont play it or reduce the quality to a draft quality. I like to set my minumum bitrate to 7 target 7.5 and max 8 if i have the space.
