DVD obsessed.

How do you store your DVDs? I have one of those towers but it only holds 97 DVDs and I own about 250.

Filmjunkie we have similar taste except for the Brian DePalma stuff (I can't stand his movies) I only own Scarface and that was a gift.

I love DVDs, but stopped buying so many after I joined Netflix.

Plus, one day it dawned on me that I'd soon want high-definition DVDs. I guess there's always something else on the horizon. I'm sure I'll end up repurchasing several films in HD.

Please don't tell me my DVDs are soon gunna be obsolete too!

BTW, Filmjunkie hows that "Dead and Breakfast" movie? I almost bought it the other day just because of the cool dvd cover.

thanks isaac!!

No Cash- I have two racks that I have stacked on top of one another, I got them from best buy I think. they each hold about 250 each.
Dead and breakfast I would rent first. It doesnt know what it wants to be, a horror or comedy and its hard to pull of a good horror/comedy.

And as far as this HD/blu-ray whatever that is on the horizon, I heard those players will be backwards compatible so you'll be able to play your current dvds on them. Plus, I think the next format won't catch on for at least 6-7 years!!!

I certainly hope so. The HD-DVD players will come out in 2006 and will be very expensive. But by 2008 they'll probably be a dime a dozen.

What impresses about Blue Ray / HD-DVD is how many times we'll line up and buy the same content! George Lucas has sold Star Wars on Betamax, VHS, Laserdisc, DVD...and someday HDDVD. Then there are the "special editions" and the "limited edition box sets."

I don't think our DVDs are in danger of being obsolete...but I haven't seen the HD stuff yet.

I highly doubt that that an HD DVD version of a movie will look so much better than an SD DVD version that you'll want to rush out and replace your library.

I won't. I've seen a lot of movies in HD, and it won't be worth the expense.

Sure, I'll buy anything NEW on HD.

"Timerider." Holy cow.

Well, yeah. And Repo Man, Square Dance, Tape Heads, and Elephant Parts. And if Dr. Duck's Super Secret All-Purpose Sauce ever comes out on DVD, that'll be there, too. :)

So I guess some of my purchases aren't quite random.

You could open up a store you have so many DVDs!

EDIT: You don't have Fight Club???

Nah. No interest. Doesn't mean it won't eventually wind up in there. Maybe my wife'll buy it.
