I started a independent record label last year and I was invited to a lot of events sponsored by the local radio stationa nd different clubs where I shot some footage of some now well known performers, I wanted to start a news DVD magazine and would like to know your opinion on using some of the interview and concert footage i filmed. I was invited to all of these events and asked by the owner/sponsors to bring camera and film. could i release this footage as part of my News DVD magazine w/o a signed release as these were public events and i was asked to come and shoot? Would it being a news magazine make any difference, sorta like EW or Time magazine but on video format.
