I am looking to provide a little more professional looking piece for my clients... most of my output is for the web..... but I always send dvd quailty stuff to my client and have started doing some packaging work and a good looking disc would really add alot

anyone had any luck with any at home methods ?

You're much better off using a printer with printable-DVDs. Press-on labels zre just a bad idea for many reasons.

Stick-on labels cost me a DVD player once - stay far far away. Get one of the Epson Stylus printers...I've got the R320 and it prints discs beautifully.

Supermediastore.com has third-party refills at a fraction of the cost for both the Claria and the old school ink types for Epson. We're talking under 30 bucks for a complete set of ink rather than 20 bucks a color or whatever the heck it costs to get the OEM stuff. For DVD printing the ink is outstanding. I don't print my own photo's so could care less about the finer details. All I know is I buy like 5 sets of ink at a time and it lasts months with constant printing. I used to stress about ink costs- now I print like I was at work.
They're the best store I've found for prices on Taiyo Yuden et al, as well as mailers, ink, DVD cases, and even A4 sized DVD wrap templates.

I use a Canon IP5300 printer and Verbatim DVD+R 16x printable (completely neutral, no logo) - very satisfied with the results.

thanks for the information! :)
