DVD Help

Hey my friends...

I was wondering if there is a way to make a DVD out of AE. I mean like exporting in mpeg-2 or something, like FCP does in order to burn in DVD Studio Pro and play it on any DVD.

Is there a way?

Not sure why you would want to but I don't think you can. If you have AE you must have some other software more appropriate for DVD aurthoring like Encore. What NLE are you using. You can even encode and burn from PremierePro.

Im using FCP and currently compressing with FCP but it sucks...cause when i play it on the dvd, it looks jagged

I would recommend to export the uncompressed movie from AE, because it is a compositor, not a renderer software. cut it in FCP or Premiere, or what ever you want, export the film in mpeg2 or hd or uncompressed or dv format, and then with encore rerender or just burn it on a DVD. sometimes I advise to render the audio in encore because it supports dolby digital

Are you using compressor? That is a pretty good piece of software that fully intergrates with FCP. It produces fantastic MPEG2 footage ready to take into your authoring software.
