Everytime I burn a DVD with a menu in DVDA2 there is always a problem. Example: I burnt a simple dvd with four different films on it (took up about half the disk space) and there was a glitch in 2 of the four. Either the video skips or just freezes. -- This has happend numerous times and do not know what to do. The wierd thing is I can burn a "single movie" dvd and it will work like a charm (most of the time).

Please help!!!

THANKS

Four films on a 4.7 gig dvd? I guess they are short films..Try slowing the speed when you burn, go down to 2x or even 1x. It takes more time but you usually get less error.

Yeah they are shorts haha... I have tried to burn at a slower rate but it still has the same result. I have also tried different media brands and still same problems.

Any suggestions?

You don't necessarily get less error when you burn at slower speeds. Burn at the speed the disc is designed for -- and match your disc speed to your burner speed.

Hodges, what is your bitrate setting?

Sounds like you have the bit rate too low for your DVD player. Try keep your bit rate between 6000 and 8000 but do not go above 8000 or your player may not be able to keep up with the data. Get around 3000 and you will have crap video and some players can't handle the slow bit rate and lock up. DVDA defaults at 8000 keep it there and see what happens.

The bitrate is the default settings for the "DVD Architect 24p NTSC video stream" preset. The avg is 6,000,000 the max is 8,000,000 and the min is 192,000. Should I change the min to about 3,000,000?

Let me know
Thanks

Yes I have tried many different DVD players including a computer and the DVD freezes everytime. The wierd thing is that it will burn a "single movie" just fine.
Any other suggestions?

Thanks for your replies

What burner are you using? brand name and model
Do you have other software for burning DVD Video? Nero 6 has a trial
Did you preview in DVDA to the freeze point? Did it freeze?
