Hey everyone. I just got done editing a promotional video, and am looking for a place to duplicate 200 dvd copies. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions of places to get this done at. I have been looking online, but just figured I would see what companies people here use. Im in NC by the way, although I can send it outside the state.

A friend of mine and also a DVXuser has his own duplication gig on the side. He can duplicate and print whatever on the DVD or CD. I just released a DVD this summer and he did my dupes for me. (I went the independent route too!) Take a look at my website listed below and you can see a still of how the dvd looks. Its not paper label, it was printed on. I had a graphic artist actually design the rim/tire/fire.

If your interested in his services, let me know and I will tell him to check this thread to get in contact with you about prices. I am not sure if he can shrink wrap them for you but I will ask...I just had him do the dupes, I bought the dvd cases elsewhere in bulk and had Kinkos print up my inserts.

DVXUser Envision also has the equipment to duplicate and print DVDs, he can also print the case wraps and inserts and shrink wrap the cases. You might try PMing him directly to get info/prices.

Are you looking for duplication or replication?

When you hit 300 or more discs you can go the replication route (much better than duplication). I have worked with a number of replicators that offer under 500 piece runs (at least for DVD5s) and all have pretty fair prices. Once you hit a 1000 or more, the costs really start to drop. Just did a 2500 piece run on one project for less than $.65 a disc.

Duplication and Replication are different processes; duplication is basically just burning DVD-R's, whereas replication is actual stamped discs. The replication will give you substantially more reliable/universal playability, but as khmuse points out, you usually need to up the quantity significantly. I use www.cdtechnical.com, they do a great job and their prices are reasonable and the service is excellent.

You really should look at qty 1000 prices if you have not done so. The extra discs are almost free, in fcat when you figure in packaging costs, they are less than free. You could buy 1000 in Amray cases, use 500 of the cases for something else (throwing away the printed covers and DVDs and come out way ahead versus cost of buying 500 packaged DVDs and 500 empty cases.

Plus at 1000 you can get replicated discs and usually better quality packaging.

Someone recommeded a place called ADS in Indianapolis to me today for low qty dupes. I can't locate any additional info on them, but it's worth looking into. I'll post back if I can track them down. "Ads" is a difficult term to google!
