DVD Case Insert Design

Hello all,

I am looking for tutorials/info on creating dvd case covers, dvd printable media design, and dvd case insert design using Photoshop cs.

I've been searching for a few days now and no real luck. Anyone know of any threads or sites that would be helpful. I've searched here and the adobe site. I know there has to be something, I'm just having a hard time finding it.

Could someone help?

Thx

Kugar

After finding this site:

...I haven't really used any other DVD case templates. It's worked great for me!

If anyone else finds great a DVD case resource site, post it here! I'm also always looking to expand that aspect of my Photoshop use...

Make sure you work in CMYK mode or you'll be very disappointed in the colors if you take it to be professionally replicated with printed covers and everything. There's a world of difference between how it looks when you've done all your tweaking in RGB and then you see the printers turn it into CMYK. It's too late then to get it right. Have to start from the beginning in CMYK and not RGB. RGB only looks good when you're printing the dvd wraps yourself on an inkjet printer.

I know what that means, I know what both of those are, how do you switch between them.

Edit Nevermind. I opened Photoshop and voíla.

I attempted to use the templates and photoshop cs2 prompted that the templates were outdated. I attempted to load them anyway, but without success. How do you load and use the templates?

Which template are you trying to use? I downloaded the single-case.zip and opened the JPG without issue in CS2.

I've saved it as a PSD and it's available here: single-dvdcase.psd

Thanks for your help. I saved it to my comp and opened it, but it came up as a black window. I really don't know a lot about Photoshop CS2, but I have a workbook for assistance (and the help section of course), but it's all a bit confusing.

Thanks again. I'll try to figure something out.

MODIFICAION: I played with it and guidelines showed up, so I got that far. That is very helpful. I'm not sure how to change the background, but one step at a time. Thx!

Ok, I got the template up, but when I use adobe bridge to import a pic it opens as a new window (template nowhere to be found). What am I doing wrong?
