DVD Burning Problem

First, I have used this forum for a lot of troubleshooting problems I have had with my Sony products and I just wanted to say you guys are a tremendous help.
Second, I am having an issue when I try to burn my DVD using DVD Architect. My projects render fine but when it gets to the burning process it gets to just shy of halfway before it hangs up and I have to restart my computer in order to get the DVD out. I have used this program a lot and I haven't had this problem before. It started about two weeks ago.

I use DVD +R (thanks to the forum again)
I have downloaded new firmware, no help.
I have been told that I may need to check my Buffer Underrun.
I haven't tried re-installing the program yet.

Have any of you had problems with this before? Or do you know what I have to do to get it working again?
Thanks for your help, any and all is appreciated. :dankk2:

I have the same issue with Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 8 and DVD Architect Studio. I find if write to a directory on the hard drive, then restart the computer and load up architect and burn it will work. What drive do you have? I'm using a Lite-on 20x.

(If you go to "my computer" (or "computer" if you have Vista) you will see that the DVD drive is gone when the problem happens - at least it has on my computer.

Thanks pagophilus, I have an LG and the same thing happens when I look at the drive after the problem occurs. I finally ran the burner through a gauntlet of tests and luckily had someone with an external burner to test things out. The external had no problems burning when my internal wouldn't. I would suggest maybe trying the same test.

I had a similar problem with a Pioneer DVD burner and DVD+R media. I solved it by getting a new burner.
Thanks David, I finally broke down and just bought a new drive on Black Friday. It's another LG 20x for $35.00. Now all my problems are gone, everything is working fine (watch, I just jinxed myself).
